Abralon
Abralon is a unique, multifunctional sanding material developed for tackling both smooth and profiled surfaces. Its patented, flexible construction allows it to create a smooth sanding pattern on angled surfaces and edges while minimizing the risk of pressure marks. The flexible weave also allows water and air to pass freely, making it suitable for both dry and wet sanding, by machine or by hand.

Abranet
The original, multifunctional net sanding material, Abranet combines high performance and a longer lifespan than traditional abrasives, making it a cost effective solution. Designed for dry sanding by machine or by hand, its true dust-free sanding characteristics result in a cleaner work environment, as well as a better surface finish.

Aluminum Oxide
Aluminum Oxide grains are a type of cutting particulate bonded to an abrasive paper or cloth. Aluminum oxide grain provides a good cut and an excellent scratch pattern.

Alumina Zirconia
Alumina Zirconia is a type of particulate, or grain, used on an abrasive backing. Alumina Zirconia is typically used for Stainless Steel / Metal Applications. A high performance abrasive blend makes this product ideal for cutting all types of stainless steel and steel alloys.

Autobox
Autobox discs are stacked in the box. They are individual discs, unlike Linkrol discs that are connected.

Backing
Backing for sandpaper includes cloth (cotton, polyester, rayon), PET film, and "fibre", or rubber. Cloth backing is used for sandpaper discs and belts, while mylar is used as backing for extremely fine grits. Fiber or vulcanized fiber is a strong backing material consisting of many layers of polymer impregnated paper. The weight of the backing is usually designated by a letter.

Backup Pads
The backup pad is the pad that attaches to the sander. If the pad is round it will either have a PSA (peel and stick adhesive) face or a Hook & Loop (Grip or Velcro like) face. If the pad is rectangular it will have a Hook & Loop face. The abrasive will either stick with adhesive backed abrasive discs or by hooking with a Hook & Loop backing.

Conversion Pads
Conversion pads attach to backup pads and convert the pad either from “grip” to “PSA”, or from “PSA” to “grip”. They also may convert from “reverse grip” to “grip”.

Film-backed Abrasives
Film-backed abrasives feature a more flexible and much smoother abrasive surface than typical paper backing. In particular, it offers outstanding performance on hard tooling gelcoats and scratch resistant clearcoats. Film-baked abrasives are also much more durable than paper backed abrasives when edge sanding. Grip Abrasive “Grip” is a generic description for Velcro.

Grip
Grip (or Hook & Loop) is the generic description for Velcro.

Hook & Loop Abrasive
Hook & Loop (or Grip) is the generic description for Velcro.

Interface Pads
The intermediate pad fits between the backup pad and abrasive disc. The purpose of the intermediate pad is either to add cushion to the abrasive for sanding contours, or to protect the backup pad from premature wear.

Linkrol Disc
Linkrol discs are connected by a perforated edge on the disc. This allows the discs to be pulled out of the box and torn off as needed.

Mesh Abrasives
Mesh Abrasives (Abranet & Autonet) have an open weave, similar to screen, that allow air to pass through. These abrasives offer consistent, fast finishing of virtually any surface material.

Narrow Belts
Narrow sanding belts are thin abrasive belts that are used on stationary belt sanders.

Non-woven Abrasive
Non-woven Abrasive material is designed for surface finishing in many industrial applications. Due to its special structure, Mirlon is easy to use on profiled surfaces. It is suitable for mattening of surfaces and creates an excellent base for the next lacquer layer.

Pad Protector
A pad protector is a form of intermediate pad. It is a disc that has Hook on one side and Loop on the other. A pad protector does not offer additional cushion, but does protect the backup pad from premature wear. Pad protectors are highly recommended for use with Abranet and Autonet.

Portable Belts
Portable sanding belts are abrasive belts that are used on hand held belt sanders.

PSA Abrasive
PSA stands for Peel and Stick Abrasive. An abrasive disc is considered PSA if it has an adhesive back. The disc will not necessarily have a peel off backing.

Silicon Carbide
Silicon carbide grains are a type of cutting particulate bonded to an abrasive paper or cloth. Silicon Carbide grains produce less fiber rising and a finer scratch pattern than products that use aluminum oxide grains.

Vacuum Disc
Vacuum discs are multi-holed abrasive discs used for sanding with a dust collection system. Waterproof Abrasives As the name indicates, these abrasives are waterproof. They can be used where water is used as a lubricant for sanding.

Wide Belts
Wide sanding belts are wide abrasive belts that are used on large stationary belt sanders.
